You just finished ordering a pizza. Once it comes, you see the red tomato sauce on the bottom, the melty cheese in the middle and the juicy pineapple on top. How would you react? We are all aware of the love of pizza that we share, but there is one question that is always controversial. Does pineapple belong on pizza? I believe it does. Firstly, it adds more flavor. Secondly, some people who haven’t tried it judge pineapple on pizza just because it is a fruit, but it is actually really good. Lastly, having pineapple on pizza adds a sweetness that goes really well with pizza.
Pineapple on pizza adds more flavor. Julia Schliesser, a student at EJHS, states, “It is amazing! I don’t know how it tastes good but it just goes perfectly together.” It is very underrated and hated for no reason. The sweetness pineapple adds makes the pizza taste so much better. It is also healthy to eat pineapple on pizza. According to pizzahut.com.au, it is a good source of fiber and vitamin C. Delani Campbell, a student at EJHS, states, “Tomatoes and pineapples are both fruits, so I don’t know why we have to judge pineapple.”

Some people who haven’t tried pineapple on pizza judge it because it is a fruit, but it actually tastes really good. 33.3 percent of people in a google form haven’t tried pineapple on pizza. It tastes amazing, even if it is a fruit. Some people argue that fruit doesn’t belong on pizza, but the pizza sauce has tomatoes in it, and tomato is a fruit, so why is pineapple judged because of it? According to the Adobe Blog, 73 percent of people are open to the pineapple flavor outside of the traditional Hawaiian style toppings.
This is Mahalia Battle, a student at EJHS.
Having pineapple on pizza adds a sweetness that tastes really good with pizza. According to dominos.com.au, pineapple helps lift the overall flavor profile of a pizza - using its sweetness to cut through the salt and create a heavenly taste sensation. It also contrasts very well with the salty ingredients on the pizza. “It tastes great and it adds so much flavor and sweetness to the pizza,” says Mahalia Battle, a student at EJHS. It is very popular with people all around the world of all ages. According to Pizzeria Locale, 47 percent of Americans like pineapple on pizza.
In the end, I believe that pineapple is better on pizza than not on pizza. Firstly, it adds more flavor. Secondly, some people who haven’t tried it judge it because it is a fruit, but it actually tastes really good. My last reason is that the sweetness pineapple adds makes the pizza taste so much better. Would you try pineapple on pizza?
