The Edgewood Junior High School 2023-24 has officially begun. Every kid looks forward to regulation, walking in the hallways, talking with your friends and many other fun options! Although Is it still as fun if you're not allowed to walk in the hallways?

I understand that there can be trouble in the hallways, why aren’t we allowed to walk in the hallway? Teachers are watching the hallways twenty four seven. Students are allowed to walk outside, what about the weather? If it is raining kids aren’t allowed to go outside, because they have the chance of getting sick from getting wet. Miriam Faulkenberg said, “It would be very hard to contain more kids in class rooms, it would get very crowded.” It can be very hard to just be quiet and chill when students are in a classroom talking and getting into your personal space. If people need to just chill for a few minutes, and people are ruining your designated space. Kids are not able to correctly regulate before another long class period.
The bad thing about not being allowed to walk around in the hallway is everyone chills in the bathroom. So the hallways just have a humongous bathroom line in the girls bathroom. If girls and boys can’t regulate by having the time to use the bathroom there is a problem with the rules. If kids are not able to get what they need there is not even a purpose for regulation break. Hannah Zook says,”A bunch of kids stay at lockers and block up the hallways.” If students bunch up the hallways it can be a challenge for students and teachers to get to designated areas. Last year every student could walk in the hallways, and no one had problems with hallways being blocked.
Another reason that students need to walk around is, students at the beginning of class ask for the bathroom. “Can I use the bathroom? MAY I USE THE BATHROOM. I have to use the bathroom.” Students did that last year but there is an overload of restroom questions this year.
This is the EMPTY hallway during regulation break.
Out of all the rules, I think this is one of the most crazy rules. The most crazy rule is students aren't allowed to pass out balloons or roses. I don’t think anything can get crazier than that. I hope this regulation break rule gets changed by the end of the year!
