Are those Christmas lights… in November? Do you think you should decorate for Christmas in November? I think you should, this article will show you why. People from EJHS took a survey about decorating in November, 80.5% said yes and 19.5% said no. Here’s what I think about this topic.
“Brrrr” is how you would feel decorating in December outside. This is one of the reasons I believe you should decorate in November. In November temperatures are gonna be low but not as low as December. November tends to be warmer than December, which makes decorating outside better and more comfortable. The average temperature in December is 33.3 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about 1 degree above freezing. In November the average temperature is 54 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 20.7 degrees warmer than December’s average. So if you decorate in November it will be better than decorating in almost freezing temperatures. Micaiah Hill, a 6th grader, said, “It is way warmer in November and you won't be stressed in December. My family decorated the first week of November and we don't have to worry about stress when it is December 24th.”
Imagine having to clear things out just to make room for presents somewhere or take up some space in your room to put presents. This is another reason I think you should decorate in November. Some people like to buy presents early so they don’t have to worry too much about them later, but if they don’t have a tree to put them under they have to keep them in a random spot. This is why you should decorate for Christmas in November. If you’re one of those people who likes to buy presents early it is so annoying having to just keep them in your room. I just think it would be easier to put the presents under a tree, not under your bed. Morgan M. said, “I think that you can but the decorating needs to happen after Thanksgiving, because before that is early, you would still have fall and Thanksgiving things up and it is weird celebrating Thanksgiving with Christmas decorations up.”
Holidays can be a headache with everything going on. During holidays you have to focus on getting gifts, focus on how much you’re spending, making food, wrapping gifts, and sometimes hosting parties. So why add decorating? This is one specific reason I think you should decorate in November. People took a survey of which holiday is the most stressful and 55% percent said Christmas is the most stressful holiday, the top stressor is money. Could you imagine the stress of all that and then adding decorating to the holiday stress? Another person said, “Because the next holiday is Christmas and if you're not decorating right after Thanksgiving I think it's ok. I also think this because it is hard to set up decorations when it's snowing or raining and when there is ice on the ground.”
In this article, I told you why you should decorate for Christmas in November. This is because of stress, finding a place to put gifts, and bad temperatures. These are some reasons I think you should decorate in November. After reading my article I hope it changed your point of view a little bit. Overall I think you should decorate for Christmas in November but maybe after Thanksgiving. Hope you enjoyed my article about decorating for Christmas in November.
