For almost 10 years Apple has been working on this “car project” and it is most likely going to fail. Rivaling with Google’s Waymo, a self-driving electric car.
For the decade this project has been going on it has been scrapped multiple times but they keep coming back to it and aren’t giving up. Apple has burned more than $10 billion on this project and it isn’t doing too well. Mr. Ive and his team of designers made blueprints for a car that would look like the Fiat Multipla 600, which has 6 windows and a curving roof. The design has no steering wheel and would be controlled using Siri.
Apple thought it could create a better car than Tesla and the rest of the electric car industries. However, that was the reason that led to the downfall of the project. Not many good things can be said about the car, although there are plenty of bad things like The project cost, and the large price tag for consumers. Also, the car will not be very profitable, because it will most likely not do well because of all the bad things people say about it. (although the project will not become more than a prototype.)
Originally called “Project Titan” people now call it the “Titanic disaster,” which is essentially what it is. Apple always acted like it was trying to build a car, but numerous leaks and worker's postings revealed much of what was going on over the years.
Throughout the 10 years that Apple has desperately spent trying to make a car, hundreds of thousands of people thought or some even knew it would fail. Being given up on and brought back many times the project was scrapped just a few months ago, so there will not be an Apple car.
