Starting the new year, the show choirs are going to be making their first impressions in 2024! This year is very different from the rest. There is not just one group anymore. Instead, two groups are competing for the first time in EJHS! The new group, Sophisticates, and Mini are competing in many different places such as Ohio, Fort Wayne, and many other places!

Sophisticates is an all-girls show choir group. Their show is called “Hey Dreamer” and consists of five songs that are fun, catchy, and of course, dreamy. Sophisticates' show “Hey Dreamer” includes: The opener: Bad Dream, The Character Number: Mister Sandman with (The soloist Ella johnson), The Ballad: A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes/Once Upon A Dream with (The soloist Emerson DeSalle), The Third Dance Number: Black And White with the Quintet (Payton Baugh the soloist) Jorjia Creeden, Emma Warner, Hannah Smith, Ila Connors (Backup singers), The Closer: Sweet Dreams with (the soloist Averi Krebbs).
Mini Warehouse is a mixed group of both girls and boys. Their show is called, “You Didn’t Hear it From Us" which has six songs that are energetic, exciting, and mysterious. Mini Warehouse’s show “You Didn’t Hear It From Us” includes: The Opener: Gossip, The Character Number: The Cover is Not the Book with (Greta Vagedes the soloist), The Ballad: How We Remember You with (Dean Smith, Haylee Deckard in the duet), The Boys Number: Mind Your Own Business With (Gage Meza, Meg Wilson The soloist), The Girls Number: Our Lips Are Sealed With (Anika Kimbro the soloist), The Closer: It’s My Life.
What is it like to be in show choir? Dorothy Hamilton (In Sophisticates) said, ''I like getting to be a part of the group with my friends and I like seeing how hard we work to make our show good!''
Rayne Alderson (In Mini Warehouse) said, “I like that it’s like a second family.” Although Mini Warehouse and Sophisticates compete against each other, both groups show eachother support in many different ways. Some of the girls are actually in both Show Choirs as well.
Mini Warehouse the year of 2021-2022
The first time you can see both groups is the 31st! On Wednesday the 31st, The High School is showing a preview for every show choir from Edgewood. At 7 pm Sophisticates will perform, soon after Mini will perform. Their first show will be the Contest of Champions hosted at Edgewood Junior High School on February 3rd. The following competitions will be February 10th, at Shelbyville, February 17th, at Pendleton Heights, February 24th, at Warren Central, March 1st, at Bishop Luers Midwest, and finally March 9th at Fairfield Ohio.
Overall, both groups have an amazing show and will win many competitions. Sophisticates and Mini Warehouse are definitely some of the best groups to come. See you at the competition!
