Brrrrr… it’s cold outside. All throughout the US there has been extreme winter weather. The temperatures have been dropping into the negatives. Almost everywhere in the country was affected by it in some way. There has been a lot of snow too.
Here, we have had 2 hour delays and e-learning days as a result of this cold weather. It has also snowed a bit here too. There may be more snow coming soon.
This winter weather has also affected NFL playoffs. In Kansas City the Kansas City Chiefs played against the Miami Dolphins in a game that will go down in history as one of the coldest NFL playoff games ever. The temperature was -3 degrees Fahrenheit (about -19.44 degrees Celsius). The windchill was -25 degrees Fahrenheit (about -31.67 degrees Celsius). The Kansas City Chiefs won. It would not have been fun to watch or play in that game. In New York the NFL playoff game Between the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers was postponed because of this winter weather.
Cities along the Great Lakes are also being affected by it. The cities around the southern part of Lake Michigan (northern Indiana) got over 2 feet of snow. The area around Cleveland, Ohio got over 8 inches of snow. That is a lot of snow!
Overall this winter weather has affected lots of people. It has caused a lot of snow and cold temperatures. The kids who enjoy playing in the snow have probably enjoyed this winter weather, although everybody else probably hasn’t.
