Top 5 best college softball

Have you ever played softball, or thought it was an interesting sport? College softball is interesting to watch. I’m going to tell you about 5 of the top teams. Softball is a good sport and it provides full-body conditioning and total body conditioning, anaerobic strength, upper body development, increased flexibility, improved self esteem, and develops leadership skills.

#1 Oklahoma

First we have Oklahoma. They have a record of 45-1 and they are the best team according to www.espn.com and www.ncaa.com. Jalynn Matski says, “They are a good team and they play well.” For the OU and OSU game Oklahoma began the seventh inning with two consecutive base-hits to get on the board. Following a pitching change, the Sooners were able to scratch across three more runs to take the lead, 4-2. OSU couldn't get anything going in its half of the seventh as Oklahoma clinched the series victory with today's win. When OU played Tulsa, OU's pitching quartet of Jordy Bahl, Nicole May, Kierston Deal and Alex Storako combined on Oklahoma's nation-best 29th shutout of the season, while Alyssa Brito blasted a seventh-inning grand slam to put the game away. Oklahoma has had a great season and are the best team so far in 2023.

#2 UCLA

Second we have UCLA they have a record of 47-4 and they have 599 points for their 2023 season. Thirty-one of Brady's 72 hits have gone for extra bases, including 16 home runs, three triples and 12 doubles. She boasts a .873 slugging percentage and 1.392 OPS. Their pitcher is Megan Faraimo. The 6-foot-1 senior right-handed pitcher compiled a 26-3 record in the circle with a 0.23 ERA this past season, leading the Dons (26-4) to the San Diego Section Open Division championship game. Sharlize Palacios is their catcher and she had an injury. Former Arizona center fielder Janelle Meono and catcher Sharlize Palacios at-bats and recorded 23 runs scored, four stolen bases, and a .661 OPS.

#3 Florida State

Third we have Florida State. They have a record of 43-8 and they have 565 points this season so far. Skylynn norris says, “I like them because they're a good team and they have good players, also I like their team colors.” Their first basemen on their team are Mack Leonard and Bethany Kenn, their second basemen is Devyn Flaherty. Keen, who played in 13 games with 10 starts, batted .278 on the season. Leonard returns as the 'Noles’ top hitter as she led the team in both batting average (.375) and hits (66). Leonard recorded eight home runs in 2022 while driving in 49 runs. Her 15 doubles last season are the most by a returning Seminole. Stetson and Seminoles have played their game and it was the second time the two teams have met since 2000 and the first time the Seminoles have played at Stetson since 2000. The Seminoles won last year’s meeting 4-1 in Tallahassee. The Seminoles lead the all-time series 15-1.

#4 Tennessee

Fourth we have Tennessee. They have a record of 39-6 and they have 552 points this season so far. Amanda Ahlin is a OF/INF and her number is #88. She has 1 (x3) triples, vs Mercer (4/16/23).The Lady Vols first fielded a softball team in 1996 with Jim Beitia as head coach. In 2002, Tennessee brought in the husband and wife team of Ralph and Karen Weekly as co-head coaches. Since 2004, the team has reached the NCAA Tournament every year and the Women's College World Series five times.

#5 Texas

Last we have the Texas team. They have a record of 47-22-1 and they have 1530 home runs in their season so far. Mya Holmes Is one of their OF. She has a FLD of 0.889. Sophia Simpsons is one of their RHP/ right hand pitcher. They played Baylor and Oklahoma three times and lost all three games. On May 11th, they are playing Texas Tech in the second game of the Big 12 Tournament.

All these teams have had a great season so far. Oklahoma is a great team and has been at the top for a long time. Softball is a great game to watch and play. There are some softball games coming up for this week. They are tournaments and they should be some good games.
