The 42-year-old, Albert Pujols is on track for 700 home runs and is wanting to take 4th place behind Babe Ruth with 714. This has been his dream for a long time now and Albert has been averaging one home run every 16.33 at his ABs(At Bats) which is close to Mark McGwire who got a home run every 10.82. They call him the “Grandpa in the clubhouse.” and he and Yadier Molina are going to retire which will make all cardinals fans sad.
On Friday, August 11, 2022, A young, talented player, Fernado Tatis Jr. got suspended for 80 games for testing positive for PFD. (Performing enhancing drugs) This will include the remainder of the 2022 season and 33 games of the 2023 season. Most San Diego Padres fans were upset after Fernado Tatis Jr. had an injury on his left hand from a motorcycle taking him out of most of the season this will shock most fans. He recently signed a contract for $340 million dollars and this may make the coaches regret their decision. A recently signed contract with Juan Soto says that the Padres need to “ Move Forward” and “We all make mistakes.” On the other hand, Manny Machado says “It’s devastating and terrible to hear. That he's suspended and not going to be a part of what we're trying to accomplish here, it’s not something you want to hear before a game and definitely not something you want to hear overall. So it’s just a terrible thing.” Fernando was filed for Clostebol and anabolic steroids. Fernando said he wanted to apologize to the coaches, team, and all his fans for disappointing them. Late he said, "I have no excuse for my error, and I would never do anything to cheat or disrespect this game I love.” Playing for 3 years for the Padres his AB is.
Aaron Judge is also on a home run race for trying to take over Babe Ruth’s and Roger Maris’s most home runs in one season. He has 49 home runs right now and is on pace for 62, this will put him in the top Yankee’s most home runs in a season. This means he will have to hit a home run every 2.6 games so he will push himself to get the rest. The top of the home runs is Barry Bonds with 73, then Mark Magwire with 70, and Sammy Sosa with 66.
On August 11, 2022, The cubs and the reds played at the field of dreams. Before the game started the old cubs and reds players came out of the cornfield. The game ended with 4-2 cubs. The Cubs started off strong letting no runs score in the first inning. When they went into the bottom of the second they started of scoring 3 runs. The ended up scoring one more and had an amazing show.
