Have you ever watched a college women's basketball game? If so, you heard of a girl named Mackenzie Holmes. She is a center for Indiana University. Today, we will be talking about her and her basketball career.
Mackenzie Holmes is a girl from Gorham, Maine. She is one of the greatest IU women's basketball players. Lenny Holmes is Mackenzie’s dad; her mom is Joan Holmes. Her dad knew she had a special talent by early fourth grade. Her dad started to train her and teach her basketball. That’s when she started to enjoy it and started playing basketball. Her number is 54 for the Hoosiers. She was born on November 1. She has a step mom named Denise Payette. The Hoosiers final record of basketball was 28 wins and 4 losses.
She has one brother named Cameron and she has two step siblings named Elanna and Sam Lalezari. She averages 15.2 points per game. Her favorite food is spaghetti. Mackenzie Holmes is a Senior on the Hoosiers. Indiana was so close to going to the Sweet 16 but, they sadly lost to Miami by a last second shot from Miami. They had a chance to come back but Indiana’s ball got stolen. It was also sad because that was Grace Berger’s last game with the Hoosiers.
Mackenzie had won defensive player of the year. She also has won Big Ten player of the year. She has accomplished many things in her lifetime as a basketball player. Some of her other teammates that are also outstanding is, Grace Berger, Sydney Parrish, Chloe Moore- McNeil and many others. When she lived in Maine she got Maine Gatorade Player of the year. Mackenzie Holmes started playing for IU in 2019 and has been playing since.
