The school year is about to end and a lot has happened. So much in fact that how do we even know what happened or how everyone felt this year. Well, in order to know you can see interviews, news and photos on the events of this year.
One of the first things that happened this year was the dodgeball tournament and the mac and cheese food drive. This happened at the beginning of the school year and was a competition. Starting with the dodgeball tournament all the homerooms competed to win trophies made by Mrs. Musselwhites homeroom. Each grade competed as well, the sixth grade winning team went against the seventh grade winning team, the winner of that went against the eighth graders who won. At the end of the eighth grade went against the staff, the staff won. For the mac and cheese food drive the students brought in mac and cheese and whatever homeroom brought in the most mac and cheese won. The fall sports also consisted of volleyball, boys tennis, football and basketball. At the end of the semester there was a conviction that celebrated the end of the semester and fall break.
Alder Hanson is a 6th grader who was in track, another fall sport at EJHS.
The Christmas edition of Chronicles is still available to read.
After fall break we started the 2nd quarter. The 2nd quarter was right before winter break and had many winter related activities, like the choir concert. Winter sports were swimming and wrestling. The Christmas edition of Colts Chronicles set out as well. We only had one snow day due to frozen roads and a few half days. Once again the semester ended with a conviction where teachers acted out twelve days of christmas.
For the 3rd quarter not much happend. Our spring sports are girls tennis, basketball and softball. We had our last I-Ready test and prepared for I-learn. We also had the first school dance of the year in February, the barn dance.
The barn dance was the first and only dance this year.
Now for the 4th quarter and the last quarter. One of the first things we did was I-learn. We spent a whole week doing that and lots of prep beforehand. After I-learn school it became pretty normal. Students are studying for finals which will happen in the last two weeks of school.
So now that we know what happened, how do people feel? Mrs. Edgeman, the librarian and volleyball coach said, “My highlight was at the Christmas convocation and the staff acted out the 12 days of christmas!”. She also said, “I didn't get to go, but I have heard that the wonderlab trip for the 8th graders was really fun”. Mrs. Edgeman enjoyed this year and lots of its events. Mrs. Edgeman, however, has not the only one who had fun this year, Mrs. Millick, the art teacher, said, “I enjoyed the convocations and going over to the high school to watch performances. I also enjoyed several sporting events like the wrestling matches my son was in and band/choir performances”. The choir and band concerts were very exciting for many adutls and students alike.
Mrs.Millick is the art teacher at EJHS and the art club host.
So in total this school year was definitely one to remember. As summer is approaching the school year is about to end. It can be sad to have to go, but have a good summer.
