Mrs. Myers is a new teacher at EJHS. She is currently teaching 8th grade Science. This is her 2nd year teaching, she recently taught at Cloverdale as an agriculture teacher. When she is teaching she loves to do labs and experiments to help her student be more interactive while learning new things. When asked about moving to Edgewood she said, "I love it and can't stop bragging about it." She also says that she talked to her family about it, and told them how she loves the position, students, environment, and coworkers.
When Mrs. Myers was in school, she didn't like English, but now appreciates everything she learned. Her favorite subject in school was science and still loves it today. In school and in college Mrs. Myers was very athletic. She did track and field, basketball, volleyball, FFA, dance, cheer, and 4-H. Her favorite was definitely track and field, as she pursued it during college.Ā
Previous teachers and now coworkers have impacted her way of learning and teaching. The teachers she had growing up were very inspirational and led her to want to teach. She didn't realize until her first student teaching job and her position at Cloverdale how teaching can impact students a lot. When asked how science can help students later in life, she got very excited and said, " I think science gives a great set of skills, critical thinking, and how to approach problems, and ask good questions."Ā
We believe that Mrs. Myers will be an amazing fit for 8th grade at Edgewood, as she leads students through science and STEAM!
