Media Production is the one class that you are always on your Chromebook. Well this article is about the new teacher for Media Production, Mrs. Hanson. This is how she got into the position of the new Media Production teacher.

Mrs. Hanson is not new here at EJHS. In fact, she was in the Richland Bean Blossom Community before. She graduated from Edgewood. She also worked at Stinesville Elementary School also known as S.E.S. to the students that went there. Mrs. Hanson used to be a librarian at S.E.S. She had a rotation at S.E.S., digital citizenship, author of the month, and maker space.

After Stinesville shut down, Mrs. Hanson started to work at EJHS where she helped out students in 8th grade. As she was an Instructional Assistant otherwise known as IA. As an IA Mrs. Hanson has been in all the classes. You might have seen her subbing for a teacher. Mrs. Hanson even subbed for Mrs. Guest-Scott, the former Media Production teacher. She was in Media Production for all of last year one period a day.

This is Mrs. Hanson at her desk.

In the summer she switched to stay in one room primarily on the occasions she would switch rooms with her students. She worked with Mrs. Grubb in her room. With her own desk where she did her work and planned what would happen the next day if she had to sub for Mrs. Grubb because she was gone. Mrs. Hanson also went to the classes that her students had like 7th Science, Social Studies, etc. while she was there she helped out her students. When she was in her classroom she would the exact same thing as if she were out of the classroom but with more students.

At the last day of school before winter break she got the job offering to become the new Media Production teacher. She went to the interview and then she got the job. Now she is the new Media Production teacher. She had the students do a movie poster that describes them so she would have an idea of what they would be like. When asked, what do you think about the new teacher, Lily Padgett, an 8th grader here at EJHS replied, “She's really nice and lets us do a lot of stuff.” Then she wanted them to continue what they had previously done but she planned what they had already done. So Mrs. Hanson had to let them go and get the interviews and B-roll they needed so they could continue the project her students have been working on. Wren Ferguson, a 7th grader at EJHS said, “Whenever I found out Mrs. Guest-Scott was leaving I was scared cause I loved Mrs. Guest-Scott as a teacher. And then I was really nervous and filled with anxiety. The first day back I was scared it was gonna be some old man and then it turned out to be Mrs. Hanson.” Also when I asked Mrs. Hanson, what do you think about being the new Media Production teacher, she said, "I'm super excited about it. It's a great opportunity for me and I want to make it a great opportunity for the students as well.”
