Mr. Anspaugh is a sixth-grade English teacher here at EJHS. Over the eight years he has taught, his rock family has grown from one rock to over 40 rocks. He has named all of them. Some of the most famous ones are Earl, Rosa, and Rocky.
Earl is a rock. He was not a gift but more of a silly joke. Mr. Anspaugh’s first students wanted a class pet. They were having trouble with Arguementive writing he says “So I told them, Okay you need to convince me to get a classroom pet.” They had great paragraphs and they convinced him. So the next day “they came in and there was a box sitting up at the front of the room and on the board said “shhh” our classroom pet is sleeping” later that day they were allowed to come up to the front of the room and Mr. Anspaugh opened the box and there sitting was earl the first family member to his, still-growing, rock family. The class was kinda disappointed but, they got used to him, and “eventually someone named him earl and somebody drew a face on him.”

Rocky is Earl's bestie, he was given to him by a student that had a little trouble in school socially and educationally “every time I look at rocky he reminds me of him.”
Space Earl was a part of an art project, a now eighth-grade student made and gave to Mr.Anspaugh. Space Earl is a “sparkly clay rock who has a space helmet.”
One of Mr. Anspaugh's previous students Rowan Wooden made a rock adoption center. “He would like, make these rocks and they would have little backstories” The students would adopt them and they would sit on their desks every day.
Recently he was gifted a rock who was inspired by Ronald dahl's story BOY. Mrs. Prattchett is a candy shop owner who was looked at as rude. Despite that Earl fell in love with her. But, then someone brought in a rock that looks like her. At first earl was so excited, but then he realized that she was a fake and lost interest.

Mr. Anspaugh has not just been gifted only rocks he has also been gifted seashells, geodes, buckeyes, and more! He will gladly take any more rock family members. He will take good care of his new family members.
