Many people dream about traveling all around the US but few have actually done so. According to Points with a Crew, “the average American has only been to 12 states”! It takes money and time to visit all 50 states. Rare as it is to find someone who has actually been all around the US, many people already know a student who has done this. Maggie McCormack, a 7th grader at EJHS, has traveled to all 50 states, having adventures along the way.

Did you know fewer than 50% of trivia players can name all 50 states? Can you name all 50 states? Imagine traveling to all of them! There are a lot of states and it takes a while to journey to all of them. Maggie has been traveling since she was a baby! The first state she ever visited was Iowa and the last was Hawaii. Of course, it takes motivation to want to spend a lot of time traveling. When I asked her why she went to all 50 states she said, “We love going to national parks and my parents are crazy about traveling so we go almost every time there’s a break. My dad also wanted to go to all 50 states before he turned 50”. Even though traveling was partly due to her parent’s decisions Maggie enjoyed every part of it!

While Maggie enjoyed all her travels, she still had favorite and least favorite states to visit. Her favorite state was Alaska, “because we went during the summer and it wasn’t super cold but it was still chilly and there was snow everywhere. We did a whole bunch of hiking and I love hiking.” She told me her least favorite state was Texas because everyone was so mean to her and the plane ride was long. Maggie has been to a few states more than once. These states are Florida and California. Maggie said she has been to these states multiple times because “We have a house in Florida” and “LA in California because you can’t really get any big flights out of Indiana so we go there”.

Maggie’s favorite monument to visit was between the Statue of Liberty and the Hollywood sign. On her travels, Maggie had many fun experiences. She saw some geckos in Hawaii. She also saw a roadrunner in Arizona which she said was the most interesting animal she got to see on her travels. She met people that she wouldn’t usually see every day. Some of these were British people she met in Hawaii and Australian people her brother made friends with.

Besides having traveled the US, Maggie is also an all A’s student. She participates in Student Council, Swimming, Cross Country, and Track, all at EJHS! Maggie is a great student and person! Adrianna Minnick said, “Maggie is really nice and is always willing to help her friends”. Maggie is, as said before, a seventh grader here at EJHS. Her hobbies include drawing, drumming, running, swimming, painting, and hanging out with her besties. Her favorite food is popcorn and her favorite color is teal. Maggie loves dogs and owns two. She also has two guinea pigs!

Overall, Maggie is a very interesting person. She has traveled all around the United States of America. To top it all she’s had adventures and experiences she’ll never forget!
