Cooper's Life as a Baseball Player

By: Josephine Buckley 3/29/23

Swoosh! The pure white baseball shoots like a bullet from the pitcher’s hand to the catcher’s mitt. The batter swings, and misses. “Out!” the umpire yells. The crowd goes insane, as that was the winning pitch. The baseball team sprints in a flurry around the boy who threw the winning pitch. His name is Cooper Myers.

Cooper Myers is a 6th-grade student here at EJHS and absolutely loves baseball. He currently is playing for his travel team, the Bulls, and traveling to places like Kentucky, New York, and Florida! The practice times can get a little hectic, going 1-2 days a week from 5:00-7:00! But there is no way in the world he would ever give it up.

He states, “I started baseball when I was 4 years old in the RBB t-ball league because I loved the game when I first played it and I enjoyed my teammates, coaches, and parents. I would give baseball a 10/10 and would recommend it to upcoming players because it’s not just a sport. It's more than playing and practicing. It’s hanging out with teammates, running around in hotels, and getting the social aspect of the sport.” He enjoys everything about baseball and wouldn’t change anything about it.

As Cooper had said earlier, there are many social aspects of baseball. Some of the people on his team include Liam, Grayson, Austin, and many more. Their team name is the Indiana Bulls and their team is considered, “Really good because we have beaten the top teams in the nation.”

Overall, Cooper Myers is a great baseball player and loves the game. The Indiana Bulls will hopefully have an amazing season and continue to beat out the top teams in the nation. Cooper is definitely in it for the sport but also the social aspect of it. With an amazing team, Cooper will surely have another great season.
