In today's modern world, it’s easy to forget the beauty of a book, and how incredible they are. “I like being able to hold a book in my hands, and I feel a sense of accomplishment whenever I turn the page,” said 6th grade teacher Mr. Anspagh. And the alluring charm of a library doesn’t hurt either. Imagine it, the scent of paper, the gentle silence, and the comfort of being around something that can be preserved for decades on end. One thing that makes some libraries so special and breathtaking is their beauty. There are gorgeous sights to behold all across the globe, so feel free to bask in the glory of these libraries, which are considered some of the most beautiful in the world.

The Library of Parliament
The Library of Parliament is located in Ottawa, Ontario. It sits at the rear of the Centre Block on Parliament Hill. In 1916, the library survived a fire that destroyed the Centre Block. The exterior looks similar to a castle, with pillars and a pointed top.The interior includes bookshelves against the walls, reading desks, high windows, and a marble statue of young Queen Victoria.

The Abbey Library of Sant Gall can be found in Saint Gallen, Switzerland. It is a class A Swiss cultural property of national significance. It was made in an Baroque architectural style, which is a highly decorative and highly theatrical and dramatic style, introduced to Italy in the early 17th century. The Abbey Library has high bookshelves and a gorgeously painted ceiling, and holds the Baroque style close to heart. “It is very pretty, but the top looks like a spider web,” Wren Ferguson says.

The Royal Portuguese Reading Room
You can find the Royal Portuguese Reading Room on Luís de Camões Street, number 30 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It opened in 188. It has a lovely chandelier, and deep turquoise walls, with golden accents near the ceiling. The bookshelves are a deep brown, and the floortiles are white tiles. You do not have to contact them, and it is free without scheduling.
The George Peabody Library
The George Peabody Library is found in Baltimore, Maine. It was opened in 1878. George Peabody was an American financier and philanthropist, who died in 1869. It has high ceilings, and windows on the ceiling. It has balconies overlooking the main room. The main room has a few reading desks and white and black colored tiles. Weddings and other ceremonies have been performed in the library as well. The library closes at five p.m.
