Sarah Finn is a teacher here at Edgewood Junior High School. She recently left school on maternity leave, because she had a beautiful baby girl! She teaches sixth grade social studies, and Exploring College and Careers as an elective. She has been teaching for eight years, though this is her first year teaching at EJHS.
Mrs. Finn is probably one of the nicest teachers you would ever meet. When she teaches, she cares about the students and how they have fun. She prioritizes all students’ feelings. You can tell. When someone is sad, she helps them or gives them a break out in the hallway. When someone is happy, she tells jokes with them. But, whenever it’s needed, she can be strict. Both qualities are very effective when teaching middle schoolers.
This is Mrs. Finn!
“I like Mrs. Finn, because she cares about kids a lot.” says Caitlyn Bayne. She had Mrs. Finn for Exploring College and Careers in the first semester.
“I like Mrs. Finn, because she does fun activities.,” says Jack Grubaugh. He has Mrs. Finn for Exploring college and Careers in the second semester.
“Mrs. Finn is nice and kind and she is so sweet." Says Adrianna Minnick. She had Mrs. Finn for Exploring College and Careers in the first semester.
Mrs. Finn recently went on maternity leave. Her baby’s name is Ember. “It's been a little bit of a challenge to switch from having one kiddo to two!” She says. She claims it’s been hard to give Ember attention, but while giving Ezra the attention he needs as well. Babies are very hard to raise along with other kids. That is something that makes Mrs. Finn special. She is raising two kids, one of which is a baby, AND she’s teaching middle schoolers. Doing ONE of those by themselves is super hard. Especially the baby and middle schoolers part.
Mrs. Finn really loves teaching. She says,”I love it because I get to be creative all the time and make school fun for kids.” That’s proof from Mrs. Finn herself that she cares so much about kids.
