Mrs. Guest-Scott is our Media Productions teacher here at EJHS. She has won the Educator of the Year award in 2021, and her Media Productions class is in charge of making videos for the Youtube channel: EdgeMedia. She and her students also put together the Monday Minute which is the video that is played in homeroom every Monday.
Mrs. Guest-Scott enjoys hanging out with family, cooking, listening to podcasts, watching British Mysteries, and reading. She has three dogs, two cats, and a bird. She has worked at two other schools which are Owen Valley High School and Columbus East High School. Mrs. Guest-Scott was an ELA teacher for 16 years. She later switched to the Edgewood Virtual Academy. She said, “When I returned to the building, there was an opportunity to help create this new, growing media program, and I jumped at the chance to do something new and challenging.”
This is Mrs. Guest-Scott’s 18th year of teaching. She likes that Media Productions class is fun and unique while still sharing with the community.
“I love growing and learning and taking on new challenges! I use technology to build connections and increase engagement.” Mrs. Guest-Scott says.
One of her favorite moments in Media Productions was when she and her students attended The Ellettsville Chamber of Commerce Awards Ceremony.
She said, “I got to see how much our work meant to the honorees and our community while seeing my students bursting with pride for a job very well done--it was awesome!”
Media Productions is a really fun class and you should join next year. I hope you enjoyed this article!
