Sword and Shield; an Era in Recap

Are you into Pokemon? In this article I will go over all of the interesting things that happened within the Sword and Shield Era, and some new things to be looking forward to in the upcoming era.

First off, the Sword and Shield era isn’t yet over; there are still 2 sets left to go. By the time you are reading this the new set Silver Tempest will be out, since it is releasing November 11, 2022. It has a great feature of Alolan Vulpix as a V card and others, and it also has a main feature of Lugia with multiple great cards including an Alternate Art card. 

The other set, the last set of the Sword and Shield era, is called Crown Zenith. It will be a big set and people are saying that it will be kind of like all of the sets combined having over 160 cards and a big subset like the Trainer Gallery with 70 cards and crazy alternate art cards. Some people are already starting to get hype over it. It will be released January 20, 2023, the only Sword and Shield set in 2023.

After those sets, the new era Scarlet and Violet will start. Once the era ends it will have been going from 2020 all the way to the beginning of 2023, lasting 3 years. Each year they made a new general design for the packs. 

Now for some of the favorite sets according to the Pokemon Community. The holiday sets were all favorites, with people claiming that Celebrations and Shining Fates have one of the best pull rates of all of the Sword and Shield era. The non holiday sets that were appreciated as some of the best were Brilliant Stars, and Evolving Skies. A lot of the time people like sets for either the cards in them or the pull rates (how easy it is to pull a good card). 

Though there were some sets people didn’t like the pull rates of, sets like Battle Styles, Rebel Clash, and people also aren’t a big fan of Champions Path. People are thinking that the sets just keep getting better, with people claiming after every set comes out that it is the best set of the era! The new era will be released on February 17, 2023. 

Every era a new type of card design gets released, and in the Sword and Shield era it was the V and VMAX card, so people are also starting to buzz about what the new design will be for the new era. A couple of trailers for the Scarlet and Violet era, and the starters have also been revealed. 

Hopefully you got some good information about the new coming up era and learned a little bit about the era that is coming to an end. Usually when a new era starts, the previous era’s packs start to become a little more rare, so get your hands on some Sword and Shield packs while you still can.
