Captain Crow decides to let her stay, for Jacob was a young pirate too when he joined the crew. The ship gets attacked by a Brickleback when they are hunting for the Red Bluster. Maisie and Jacob get separated from the rest of the crew and go on a journey back to an island. Jacob and Maisie learn that the Beasts may not be as they seem.

Kyle Vansteelandt rated it a 5 out of 5 and said, "Not only that it inspires with heartwarming results, but it also has the entertainment value that is superbly staged and intelligent enough to satisfy both children and adults; The script is smartly written as it refreshes the old-fashioned story ideas, while the direction is effective due to its sharp sense of timing to sell impactful execution." Rotten Tomatoes give it a 94%, but IGN only gives a 7/10. The only thing I could find critically is that it has some violence, I disagree and still think my 5-year-old sister would enjoy it and be allowed to watch it.Ā
