Praising a 9 Year Old Game IT'S THAT GOOD!

The Escapists is a prison escape game that was released 9 years ago. It is still a favorite amongst many, including myself. So I will be here to give this 9 year old game the recognition it deserves. And yes that might not be much since I am just 12.

The game has 185+ items in the game ALL with their own use and place in the game. You can get these items by crafting, buying, taking, or finding. One thing I love about this game is that every single item is useful to some degree. All the craftable items are able to help with escaping the prisons.

The game has tons of maps and an editor for people to make their own and share. But for the sake of time and my fingers I will not talk about them. Anyways the game's main 6 maps are all different in layout, cells, certain jobs, routine, cells, and prisoner and guard opinions. Here is my summary of the maps.

Center Perks

Center Perks, is a map with no security, solo cells, and has some outside areas.

Stalag Flucht

Stalag Flucht, is a map with different jobs, 2 prisoners in each cell, most of the map is outside, a different routine, and an electrical fence.

Shankton State Pen

Shankton State Pen, is a map with contraband detectors, different jobs, some outside areas, different routine, solo cells, and cameras.

Jungle Compound

Jungle Compound, is a map with different jobs, 2 prisoners in each cell, most of the map is outside, a different routine, and an electric fence, different items, and specific escape route.

San Pancho

San Pancho, is a map with FOUR prisoners in each cell, everyone hates you, different items, different jobs, and different routines.

HMP-Irongate

HMP-Irongate, is a map with solo cells, different items, contraband detectors everywhere, cameras in every cell, different jobs, and specific escape route

All the maps change something and keep the game always fresh. And can allow different ways of escaping to shine. Another thing I love about the game is all the ways you can escape. You can escape through vents, the roof, digging, cutting, deactivating, and unlocking. You can even pair multiple ways to escape together.

Also, everyone has an opinion that you are able to raise by clicking on them and giving them items. Also when you get them to have a 90 or higher opinion of you they will be able to be recruited to help you with beatdowns.

The Escapists is a game I have been playing at home and having a lot of fun with recently. This game is amazing for its multiple escape routes, always refreshing maps, crafting, grinding strength and intellect, and its minimalistic style that never gets old or boring. Even though this game is 9 years old, I think you can have fun with it too.
