1: Top Gun: Maverick
In the Top Gun movie Pete Maverick (Tom Cruise) is training Top Gun graduates, he has to face some of his deepest fears from the past. A fun fact about Top Gun is, it has been 36 years since the last Top Gun was available to watch in 1986. Some of the students at EJHS enjoyed Top Gun: Maverick. Kaitlyn Goodall stated, ”It was very intense and suspenseful, I really enjoyed the movie.” Another review is “I really loved the movie and I like how it gets you on the edge of your seat.” said Cameron Sessions
2: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever being the #2 movie is about T’Challa returning to the Nation of Wakanda because his father passed and he is coming to take his rightful place as king, but a powerful enemy reappears. In the movie there is a funeral where everyone attending is wearing white, this was inspired by many different cultures across Africa.
3: Avatar: The Way of Water
This movie follows up from the previous movie and tells about the Sully family and the troubles that they have to battle. Poppy Bishop said “I liked how it was connected to the first movie and was related. I also liked that there were new things but it still was connected to the first movie. Another thing is that it took 13 years after the first Avatar movie for the second one to come out. There will also be three more Avatar movies releasing with one releasing every two years.
4: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
In this movie Doctor Strange journeys into the unknown, dangerous, and mind bending alternate realities. A fun fact is that the character Doctor Strange has been in five Marvel movies, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. This movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness follows up to some of the events that happen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. I have watched this movie and I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 because it was a good movie but it was a little hard to follow.
5:Jurassic World: Dominion
This bold and breathtaking movie concludes the Jurassic era, and now dinosaurs live and hunt alongside humans across the world. Jurassic World: Dominion is the longest running movie from the Jurassic franchise being 146 minutes long.
6:The Batman
Batman ventures into the underworld of Gotham City when a killer leaves behind a trail of clues, so he must find the villain and bring justice to the metropolis. A review from the Roger Ebert Website says, “This is the most beautiful Batman movie you’ve ever seen—even if it’s not really a Batman movie at all.”
7: Thor Love and Thunder
In this movie we find Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is on a quest for inner peace, but he gets interrupted by the God Butcher, who wants the extinction of all gods. Another thing is in this movie Thor meets the god, Zeus. I have watched this movie and would rate it a 4 out of 5 because it was a good movie with interesting things but I would rather watch a different movie.
8: Spider-man: No Way Home
Spider-Man gets the help from Doctor Strange because his identity is revealed. Doctor Strange doesn’t really help though, his spell tears a hole in their world and all of the villains Spider-Man has ever fought have been released. “With so much to love about “No Way Home,” the only shame is that it’s not a bit more tightly presented.” This review came from the Roger Ebert website.
9: Black Adam
After being imprisoned Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb and is ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the world. The Roger Ebert Website really likes this movie saying, "Black Adam is one of the best DC superhero films to date.”
10: Elvis
This film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley. In this movie Austin Butler plays the role of Elvis, and Tom Hanks plays the role of Colonel Tom Parker. “Elvis” brings all of the glitz, rhinestones, and jumpsuits you’d expect in an Elvis film, but without the necessary complexity for a movie from 2022 about the “King. - Roger Ebert Website
