SPOILER WARNING!
Have you ever driven down a rainbow road, or battled against a giant turtle to save your girlfriend? If you have, then you´ve probably done something related to Mario. You may have even watched the movie that came out Wednesday April, 5 with much excitement. However, since the cast list fans have been upset with the idea that Chris Pratt would be playing Mario. Also a part of the trailer was cut from the movie. So, did these factors affect the enjoyment level of the movie? Well, here are some of the reviews and thoughts about the Mario movie.
Mario movie has had theaters full since it came out.
As I said parts of the movie trailer ended up being cut. In one of the trailers while Toad, Princess Peach and Mario are starting their travels when a Cheep-cheep attacks Mario, Peach quickly detaches the Cheep-cheep only for it to attack Toad. However fun this bit was it ended up being shortened and most of it was cut, the only part that made it to the movie was when Mario was attacked, it then cut to the next scene.
Befor I get into more of the details, what happens in the movie? Well, in the movie Mario and Luigi live in Brooklyn and, as you would expect, are plumbers. Mario´s dad is very disapproving of the business, so Mario strides to do better. After seeing a news report Mario and Luigi decide to save New York by stopping a flood. However after falling they end up underground in the sewage near a large green pipe (similar to the ones in the games). Seconds later Luigi disappears, as Mario looks for Luigi he approaches the pipe he then gets sucked in and taken through the universe. As they float through the universe the paths they are on split, taking Luigi to Koopa Kingdom (the kingdom Bowser rules) while Mario gets taken to the Mushroom Kingdom (the kingdom Princess Peach rules). Throughout the rest of the film Mario is trying to save Luigi, he teams up with Peach and eventually overthrew Browser.
The Mario movie has gotten many reviews already posted on google.
So from reading that explanation do you think the Mario movie sounds interesting. Well if you do you're not alone because the movie has a 59% on rotten tomatoes. Not only are Mario fans excited for the movie, EJHS students are also interested in the Mario movie, 6th grader Caitlyn Bayn says, ¨I would like to see the Mario movie because I have heard a lot of good things about it and Mario has been with me all my life¨. In addition, Caitlyn also said, ¨ I would play Mario kart with my family and I has become on of the things I do in my free time¨.
So according to most google reviews and online posts the Mario movie has been a success. However, did you like it? I watched it and I would definitely recommend watching it, it has many references and is a great movie for kids and adults alike.
