How come we can’t have phones in class? Like, We might need them for an emergency. Sixth grader Kelcey Thacker said, “what if there’s an emergency and we need to call our parents we will never be able to call them.” Some people say that teachers just want us to listen to their “Boring” lesson. But, that’s not true. Why? It’s for some safety reasons. That is what I will be telling you about today in this article.
First, People could be on camera taking pictures. One big safety rule is that people will take photos of other people and post them on social media. Some people’s parents might not want them on social media. And, If their parents find them on social media their parents will get mad. And they won’t really learn anything.
Whenever you have your phone in class you start to not pay attention. Plus if your head is down for a long period of time the teacher is probably gonna suspect you. Also, once one person sees your phone and starts talking and watching it with you. Then everyone will start talking and watching your phone. According to Middleborough Educational Television Website, “When kids are on their phones for most of their days. They don’t do work and grades drop dramatically.”
One thing about having your phone in class is that when you get a notification you will hear a buzz or ding. If the teacher hears that then you're in a pickle. Some people try to put it in their pants and pockets of their hoodies. Some people get caught, and some people don’t.
In my opinion I think we shouldn’t bring phones to class. Just for the fact that you don’t get caught and so you don’t get detention or go to the Principal's Office. Plus if the teacher gets it then you won’t have it for a while. Hope you enjoyed learning about why students shouldn’t bring your phone to class.
