Summer is just around the corner and we want you to be prepared to have fun in the summer and not get bored. According to https://www.childrens.com, “Over the summer, without classmates or schoolwork, many children find themselves a little bored.” If you are not planning any big trips or are probably going to stay at home a lot this summer then this article is for you!
The first thing that you can do when you are bored is try a new arts and crafts project. One example of this is learning how to make friendship bracelets.
An article on friendship bracelets and mental health says “Along with relieving stress and anxiety, making friendship bracelets can bring you joy.“ Even if you don’t have anyone to make them for or with, you can still make bracelets to keep you busy and you will have them to wear.
The second thing you can do is try learning a new sport or skill. Some examples are skateboarding, roller skating/rollerblading, and so on. This can help you find a new enjoyment and something to keep you busy for the about 12 weeks of summer if you have no plans. According to firsthand.co, “[Learning a new skill] helps you gain new experiences, trains your brain to handle a wide range of challenges, and keeps your neural pathways active.”
The third and final activity on this list is start a new TV show or movie series. According to bcu.ac.uk, “Both TV and radio are great at providing distractions from real life.” Have nothing to do on a summer night? Grab some popcorn and a few blankets and start binge-watching a show you haven’t started yet!
If you ever get bored in summer, just remember this list. If you get bored you could try a new arts and crafts project, learn a new skill, or start watching a new series. I hope that you use these suggestions when you feel bored and need to do something fun.
