Lots of people have YouTube, and lots of people have TikTok. Some people even have both. But, one of them has to be better. This article will be all about how YouTube is better than TikTok.
First of all, they are very similar in certain ways. But, YouTube has more choices, and more overall accessibility. One reason is something obvious. TikTok has one type of video to watch, while YouTube has 2. TikTok only has the short clips, but they can be made up to 10 minutes now. It is still in the same format and type of video, while YouTube has more freedom. You can scroll through the main page and recommendations on YouTube, and on the shorts section. TikTok only has the short video section, with the following and for you section, but it’s all in one tab. YouTube has the home page, Shorts section, Subscriptions section, and the Library/“Your Videos” section.

Another reason is that YouTube has better money making opportunities. According to Demand Sage, on tiktok, for every 1,000 views, you get 2-4 cents, since they are short form videos. On YouTubes long from videos, you get an average of around $122 for every 1,000 views according to MakeUseOf.com. But, you have to have 1k subscribers on YouTube, and 4,000 total hours of watch time. It is worth the wait though, for such good pay.
YouTube also has lots of more platforms it can be watched on. It can be watched on Iphone, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Google Chromecast, and Amazon Fire TV. You can’t watch TikTok on TV, but with YouTube, it is everywhere.
Anderson Shertzer, a 6th grader, says that YouTube is better. “I like YouTube better because YouTube has long videos that are better to just sit down and listen to and watch." He likes YouTube because it has long and short videos, and he feels that more actual real creators use YouTube.

I also interviewed a 6th grader, Brian Rogers. “I think that YouTube has a lot more variety, with the long videos and short ones, music videos, and all of the other genres." His favorite type of video are reaction videos. He likes that he can watch YouTube on his Xbox.
In conclusion, YouTube pays better, has more freedom and choices, can be watched in more places and different platforms, and overall has better content.
