There have been many events that have happened in the past couple of weeks. With concerts, rare animal sightings, and cool space lineups. There are also islands made of plants racing toward the Florida coastline. As you can see, there are lots of things happening right now.
One thing that has just recently happened is the Taylor Swift concert in Las Vegas. Currently, she is going on her Eras Tour which is going from March 2023 to August 2023. She is hitting many stadiums in the U.S. One 6th-grade student Essie Hogue went to the concert and this is what she said about it “The concert was amazing! She is so talented and I loved all of the songs she performed.”
Another thing that has recently happened is a rare animal spotting. A massive whale was seen off the coast of Spain. Drone footage saw it and experts say that this is a huge case of scoliosis. It is the second largest species in the world and they saw him off the coast of Spain. Experts think he may have been hit by a ship. Scientists couldn’t track it but they think we will be seeing him again because of the difficulty of swimming.
Something else cool has happened in the past few weeks is an island size blob of seaweed heading toward the coast of Florida. This isn’t very good because it could lessen the number of people that go on vacation there. It also smells awful. According to CNN Travel, it says that “the seaweed lets off a gas that smells like rotting eggs. It can also turn into a threat to ocean life. Luckily it can be cleaned up. It can take millions of dollars to clean it up though.”
Something that you may have seen yourself was the planetary lineup of 5 planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus. They will become visible on Friday, March 31, and be visible through the next few weeks. These lineups come every year or so almost all of it will be visible without a telescope, but one will always be handy. This whole thing will take up about 70 degrees of the sky. This may be cool but it has no significance.
One last thing that you may enjoy is that Australia is setting annual quotas to kill them. According to CNN, “kangaroos are so plentiful that Australia needs to start culling them regularly to save the land that they live on. Licensed hunters can earn a fee for each kilogram of kangaroo they cull.”
With all the things that have been happening in the past few weeks, we can tell that nothing ever stops happening. From concerts to planetary lineups, we can tell the world never sleeps.
