There are many events happening in the community from turtle races to food trucks. Bloomington, Indiana has many events going on in the next few weeks but we are here to talk about the ones that would be the most fun for you.
One event happening in the next few weeks is Food Truck Mondays. This is the only event that will happen many times for a while. It happens every Monday from May 1st to September 25, 2023, at White River State Park from 11 am-2 pm. Each week you will see two new food trucks one sweet and one savory. Anyone who wants to come can come. So after school is out go spend lunch with your family. The food trucks are different every single time you come, so you will never get tired of the same food they have to offer.
Have you ever heard of the Zoopolis 500? It is one of the coolest things you will ever see. Turtles Racing! It will take place on May 24th at the Indianapolis Zoo. At ll:30 (a.m) the turtles will take off and race up and down a straight track. They are not racing for a trophy they are racing for fruit. At the end of the race, a “pit crew” member will be in the winner's circle toasting a glass of milk. Why a glass of milk you may ask? This whole race is sponsored by the American Dairy Association or the ADA.
The next event that is in Indiana is the Cereal Cinema. In the Cereal Cinema, you will have a great time eating cereal while watching movies. They are playing one of the best movies ever. Cars! It is going to be held at the Athenaeum on May 13, 2023. It starts at 10:00 (a.m.) and goes on until noon (p.m). The cost to get a ticket is 6 dollars. Anyone who wishes to go can just drive there. A movie and cereal are all you need on a Saturday morning. I think it is at least.
Another cool event happening soon is a baseball games with the Iowa Cubs going against the Indianapolis Indians. The games are held at Victory Field which is located in White River State Park on May 16th every day until May 21st. The tickets start at $12, but they could be more expensive than that though. They will start at 1:35 (p.m.) and will last until the 9th inning. One thing that you may not have realized is that this is their 121st season!
Did you know that on May 20th there will be a Race day and open house at the Genisis Sports Performance area? It is free and there will be food and games. Anyone can attend and you will get to specially see the faculty for adults and athletes. You should be very excited. This is a very fun event. You may even meet new friends. You could get the chance to become a racer someday. Sound fun? I will let you decide that.
We hope you choose to attend one of these upcoming events in Indiana. Even if you don’t go to the Zoopolis 500, Food Truck Monday The open house race day, Cereal Cinima, or the baseball game, have fun wherever you choose to go to.
