Primary Sources
The National Archives - The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the nation's record keeper of all documents and materials created by the United States federal government. This includes the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and The Bill of Rights. It also includes the public records of ordinary citizens, for example, military records of the men and women who served in the U.S. military, naturalization records of the immigrants, and even the canceled check from the purchase of Alaska.
Library of Congress - The LOC digital collection contains primary documents including manuscripts/mixed materials, photos, prints, drawings, web archives, audio recordings, books/printed materials, notated music, film, video, maps, and newspapers.
