Gateway Readers Award This is a Missouri book award that is created with the help of high school students and voted on by high school students. The books selected appeal to HS students' needs, interests, and reading levels. This is a great opportunity for students to have a voice in what is considered "good" literature.
How do I participate? All you have to do is read 2 of the 15 nominated books and answer one question about the plot of each book by March 4. As you do this the library will fill out a log that we will keep in the media center. All those who successfully accomplish this will join us in the Media Center for a pizza/voting celebration on March 6. If you successfully read all 15 books, you will receive an award.

Dogwood Award This is a book award that was created to provide students of Missouri with a recommended reading list of nonfiction titles that will interest them and enrich their lives. It also allows the librarians of Missouri a chance to recognize and honor outstanding works in nonfiction.
Denny O'Neil Award This is an award that provides the students of Missouri with a recommended reading list of quality graphic novels that will broaden their knowledge of the world and enrich their reading experience. It also allows Missouri librarians an opportunity to honor outstanding works in graphic novels.
