Raya Grace Music Preschool is Academic Preschool Plus Piano!
What is Raya Grace Preschool?
• Your child will learn all of the academic basics to get ready for kindergarten, have a ton of fun, AND learn how to play the piano!
• We have daily one-on-one reading lessons, daily carpet time where students learn the alphabet, phonemic awareness, numbers, and math, daily dramatic play for developing social skills and language, expressive art projects, weekly hands-on science, and outdoor recess!
• We introduce our students to new and healthy foods each day during snack time!
• We believe learning should be fun, hands-on, and engaging!

This curriculum was created by Raya Blackburn, who also wrote the Sound Beginnings curriculum for a company called Let's Play Music. Raya has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Music Education, a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Early Childhood Education, an administrative license, and nearly 20 years of teaching experience.

The Schedule for Fall 2024
2-day Mornings 9:00-11:30 TTh
Children who are 3 years old on or before September 1, 2023 will learn social skills, prepare to play piano by learning to play the rainbow bells (similar to a xylophone), develop speech and vocal skills including singing, develop dexterity, learn letters and sounds, learn counting, create art, participate in science activities, have healthy snacks and play at recess!
2-day Afternoons 12:30-3:00 TTh
Children who are 4 years old on or before September 1, 2023 will develop social skills and kindergarten readiness, solidify letters and sounds and learn to read and write, learn to sing and play the piano, improve dexterity, develop math skills, create art, participate in science activities, have healthy snacks and play at recess!
3-day Mornings and 3-day Afternoons MWF
Children who are 4 years old on or before September 1, 2023 will develop social skills and kindergarten readiness, solidify letters and sounds and learn to read and write, learn to sing and play the piano, improve dexterity, develop math skills, create art, participate in science activities, have healthy snacks and play at recess!
We follow the Provo School District Calendar, but we start at the beginning of September.
Class Size
Space is limited to 10 students per class.
Our Philosophy
We believe in the power of music to teach academic skills.
We believe that learning to sing and play the piano are important life skills.
We believe that 4 is the perfect age to start playing the piano.
We believe that very young children can learn to read.
We believe in daily one-on-one reading time with each student.
We believe in hands-on learning through daily play and outdoor recess.
We believe in healthy snacks including fruits and vegetables.
We believe in kindness and boundaries.
We believe parents appreciate that we send most papers home at the end of the year, neatly filed in a keepsake folder or binder.
We believe that learning (at any age) should be fun!
Tuition and Fees
• All materials, including the Music Preschool Handwriting book, Weekly Reading Books, daily snacks, two recitals, and some fun surprises, are included in the one-time registration fee of $140 (Take $20 off if you register in January.)
• 3-day tuition is $180/month
• 2-day tuition is $120/month.
A full 9-month commitment is expected, September-May. (If you are unable to make the full year commitment, please notify Raya when registering.)
