Kensuke's Kingdom Review and Relection
This is your chance to become a video star! You're going to use Google Vids to create a fantastic book review of Kensuke's Kingdom. You can follow these steps to make your video amazing. You will create your review in your Literacy Folder.
Before you start filming, you need to plan what you'll say. It's a good idea to write down your ideas so you don't forget anything.
Introduce the Book: What's the name of the book? Who wrote it? Remember to hold up the book so everyone can see the cover!
Tell the Story: Briefly explain what the book is about. Who is the main character? How does he end up on the island? Do not tell us the ending!
Who are the main characters? Briefly introduce Michael, Stella Artois and Kensuke. Share 2 or 3 key facts about them. Include an image.
What was your favourite part? Share what your favourite part was. Consider including an excerpt from the novel. Explain why it was your favourite part.
What are the themes? Briefly share what the themes are in the novel. Give examples of the themes.
Share Your Opinion: Did you love the book, or was it not for you? Why? Talk about what you liked most, maybe a favourite character or part of the story.
Give a Star Rating: Decide how many stars you would give Kensuke's Kingdom out of 5. Think of a creative way to show this in your video!
Now for the fun part! Get your device ready to record. Use your plan to guide you.
Be a Star: Look at the camera and speak clearly and with a loud voice. It's okay to smile and be yourself!
Use Images: To make your video more interesting, think about using images. You could show a picture of a boat, a dog, or even a drawing of the island.
Record in Short Clips: It's often easier to film your video in small parts. You can record a short clip for each part of your plan (the introduction, the summary, your opinion, etc.). This makes it easier to edit later.
Now you'll use Google Vids to put all your clips together and add the finishing touches.
Add Your Clips: Put your video clips in the correct order. Start with your introduction and end with your star rating.
Add Music: You can add music from the Google Vids library to make your video more exciting. Make sure the music isn't too loud and doesn't drown out your voice.
Add Text: You can add a title to your video at the beginning, like "My Review of Kensuke's Kingdom." You could also add text to show your star rating at the end.
When you're finished, watch your video one last time to make sure it's perfect. Then you're ready to share it on your blog!
