5th Grade Beginning Band

Welcome to the 5th Grade Beginning Band Page!

5th grade Beginning Band is the initial start of being in the Band Program in the Ravenna School District. For recruitment, 4th grade students are given the opportunity to try out Band instruments that may peak their interest in joining Band as 5th graders. Instrument options are Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, and Percussion (Bell kit and Snare Drum).  

1-2 performances are offered for the academic school year.

• ****Beginner Band Student Streaming Videos****

  • Highly recommend for Beginner Band students or any student learning their Band instruments for the 1st and 2nd year. This is a series of streaming videos that demonstrate how to put your instrument together, maintenance care, how to make a sound, proper breathing on a wind instrument, proper playing techniques, etc.
