Respect
Our classroom encourages communication. When speaking with one another, we must treat others with kindness and dignity.
We should encourage others to speak and have their voices heard. We can do this by listening and including others in the conversation.
Leadership
We should speak the truth respectfully. If we have evidence that counteracts someone else's claim, we should speak up in a respectful manner.
We do the right thing, even if it's not popular. If your group is getting off track, it is all of our responsibility to get us back on topic.
Responsibility
We acknowledge our own actions and our own mistakes. It is okay if our estimation was incorrect, let's figure out why! Mistakes are opportunities for learning.
If someone is acting in a way that is hurtful or disrespectful, we should report this behavior. Everyone has bad days, but those bad days can get better with the appropriate support and guidance.
Service
We treat our math tools with respect, and help to clean up a mess, even if that mess isn't ours.
We volunteer our time when we can. If someone is having difficulty with a particular topic, we include them in our discussion and work to help them. We succeed together.
