Competition season spans between the Fall and Winter Season. You must make the Fall Varsity Cheerleading team to be considered for the Competition team. Below are the team's expectations.
Athletes trying out for the Competition will take place during Fall Tryouts in August.
Must make and participate on the Fall Varsity Football Cheerleading team to be considered for the Competition team.
Athletes are expected to commit to both the Fall and Winter seasons.
There are no specific skills needed to tryout for the team. Each athlete has their own specific set of skills that creates the team dynamic.
Fall Season: Practices will start in September for the competition team. They will take place after Fall Football practices 1-2 days a week. Typically practice runs between an 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
Winter Season: Practices will typically be 2-3 days per week for 2 hours.
League Mini Meets: These types of competitions typically take place Monday nights in January. This is a tentative day until the League meets in October to make a final decision.
Competitions: Competitions typically take place Saturdays or Sundays in January and February with possible competitions in December, if the team is ready.
If an athlete makes the Competition team, there may be some extra financial requirements. We try to keep costs as low as possible through fundraising efforts. Any additional costs will be explained thoroughly to the athletes if they arise.
Tumbling: Athletes will be expected to attend tumbling classes as a team. Price TBA
Athletes are expected to attend every practice and competition, including weight room and tumbling throughout the Fall and Winter Season. Athletes will be expected to sign a contract with more details once the season starts.
Competition season includes a lot a fees such as rental space, choreography, competition fees. We like to keep costs at a minimum for all athletes and expect our competition team to help fundraise to lower costs. We hope that each athlete can participate to the best of their needs to help the team since funds are used for their team.
