We will also be learning to write instructions using the story of The Snowman.
In Maths, we will be learning how to use written methods to add and subtract numbers to 100. We will be focusing on using dienes to draw our jottings and using empty number lines to support our learning of adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers crossing 10. We will begin to use this knowledge to solve world problems
We will also build on and develop our learning from Year 1 to develop our knowledge and understanding of 2D and 3D shapes. Why not try listening to shape songs at home in preparation for our learning?
Bake bread just like the bread from Pudding Lane
Build and paint a Tudor style house out of cardboard boxes
Keep your own diary just like Samuel Pepys
Visit the Monument to the Great Fire of London and go to Pudding Lane
In Science, we will be learning about Materials. We will learn about the names of different materials. We will also learn about the properties of materials and how these make them suitable for certain jobs.
Things to do at home...Conduct an experiment that finds the best material for a bucket that can be used to put out fires. Which material is the most suitable for the job?
