Founded in 1866 as the Jewish Hospital, Einstein Healthcare Network (EHN), its physicians and its staff have been leaders in medicine for over 150 years. Today EHN is anchored by the largest independent academic medical center in Philadelphia with 876 licensed beds and approximately 70 out-patient sites and physician practices. The network includes Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, the primary tertiary and teaching hospital that is a level 1 trauma center, the world-renowned Moss Rehabilitation Hospital at Elkins Park, Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, a newly built state-of-the art hospital in Montgomery county, Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park, a community hospital that also houses select surgical specialty programs, and Willowcrest, a skilled nursing facility. The network has more than 42,000 admissions, 160,000 ED visits, and performs more than 400,000 imaging procedures annually. EHN has a strong academic affiliation with the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and all faculty receive academic appointments.
The Einstein Department of Radiology performs over 400,000 examinations per year that offers a wealth of pathology. Our faculty of diagnostic and interventional radiologists are dedicated to resident education and have made significant contributions on a national level to academic radiology with service in many organizations including the American Board of Radiology, American College of Radiology, and the Radiological Society of North America.
