Last Minute Shift Cancellations info added to Coordinator How To's
Nothing is quite as special as the experiences that families share with their child in the pool in their early years swim classes. Rackley Swimming specialise in providing engaging lessons for babies from 4 months to 3 years of age. Our SAFER Start Swim program is designed to make children safer around water and build their water confidence - whilst (most importantly) having fun!
We believe in our program so much we invite families to try us for free in one of our Come & Try sessions. These in-water sessions last approximately 30 minutes and include a brief chat outlining the objectives of our program, and also provide families the opportunity to meet our team whilst experiencing a lesson first hand before making their decision. Once the session has ended they have the opportunity to choose their preferred days and times for their ongoing classes.
Set aside a seated area within your facility where you can comfortably seat approximately 10 people. Quite often both parents will attend, plus support team (grandparents etc). Where possible use a quiet space where distractions are minimal.
Collect the attendance sheet and ensure that you have everyone in the allocated area. Sometimes families may get lost, so if necessary send out a search party to find them. Once everyone is ready, commence the presentation on time - do not leave families waiting.
INTRODUCTION
Hello and welcome to Rackley Swimming Parkinson. My name is Rachael and I am the swim school coordinator here at Parkinson. During today’s presentation we will have a quick chat about the features that are located within the facility, the benefits of baby swimming, and answer any questions that you may have. Then we will hop in the water and show you some of the many activities that your child will be doing during class time.
Rackley Swimming is a family owned swim school with 16 swim schools across Queensland. Our friendly, qualified staff are passionate about teaching children to develop the necessary skills and confidence they need to be safer in and around the water. Our Baby Swimming Discovery Program caters for ages from two months to three years of age.
DISCOVERY BABIES PROGRAM INFORMATION – use brochure
Our Discovery Baby Swimming Program is broken into THREE levels. Each level is appropriate for the child’s age, their swimming ability, and their overall development. All classes are 30 minutes in duration, with a maximum of 6 children per class.
Discovery 1 is designed for children from 4 months to 12 months. In this level we introduce the parent to being able to recognise aquatic readiness signals, as well as have you and baby comfortable working together in the water.
Discovery 2 is for children aged from 12 months who typically have not had classes before, or have graduated from our Discovery 1 level. Swimmers will be learning to paddle and kick 2-3m, monkey walk unaided, as well as developing their independence in the water.
Discovery 3 children will typically be aged from 18-20 months, and in most cases will have been promoted from Discovery 2. Children will be showing independence in the water, performing safety related skills that will see them confident and comfortable in the water.
We also have our FREE Baby SPLASH program that caters for children from 2-4 months. These classes are specifically designed to introduce parents and their new born to the wonder of bonding in the water. These classes also allow us to show parents what their babies are capable of, as well as learn some exciting tips that they can utilise at home or during lessons.
Classes are conducted Monday to Friday <list approximate times>, Saturday <list approximate times> and Sunday <list approximate times>
PACKAGES – use brochure
Research and experience has shown us that children who swim two or more lessons per week year round make significantly faster progress in their swimming and development than those who swim once per week. With this in mind, Rackley Swimming have introduced our new family friendly swim packages. These packages allow you to not only receive more lessons and extra value, but also your child will be a safer and more proficient swimmer. Our multi lesson packages also include unlimited make-ups and no registration fee.
Upon enrolment each child will receive a welcome pack; <show the pack and what is in it> This pack includes a swim bag, Rackley Swimming towel and a swim school calendar with all the relevant class information on it, including what to do if you are going away on holidays. This is ideal for putting on the fridge to refer to when needed.
Our payment system works on a fortnightly debit system. You can commence classes at any time and to cease classes you simply need to provide us with 7 days notice prior to the date you wish to finish. All the relevant information is in the pack that you have received today.
HOUSEKEEPING
Our centre operates year-round and our indoor pool is heated to 32° Celsius.
Each class level is usually assigned a designated teaching area. Your teaching area will normally be the same each week and is signified by the area signage on the side of the pool.
At the end of your sample class today you will be given a ticket that corresponds with the correct level for your baby to commence classes with us. If you hand this back to our customer service team they will be able to help you with booking into your preferred day and time.
If you have not already toured our centre, the change rooms are located <point out location>, we also have baby change tables <point out location> and on deck pool showers <point out location>
Swim nappies are a government regulation unless the child is well toilet trained. We suggest reusable nappies to make things more affordable. We also have disposable swim nappies available for purchase.
