Mrs. Brown

Hi! My name is Mrs. Brown, and I am SO excited to be working with you this year! It is a very special year for all of us, and I am glad I get to share it with you! I can promise you that I will love your child with my whole heart as we create a warm, learning community together. We are going to learn how to become readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, explorers, creators, and thinkers. This year is going to be so much fun, and it will take every teacher, family member, and child to make it successful!

Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Bold Springs, GA before moving to live in Rabun County on my grandparent's farm. I graduated Rabun County High School and went on to Piedmont College. I come from a long line of teachers including my mother, Nancy Phillips, and grandmother, Monteen Watts. Some of you may have had these wonderful teachers. Let’s just say we have a passion for teaching. I graduated from Piedmont College with a B.S. Ed. I later received a Master’s degree and after a few more years, I also earned a Specialist degree.

I am married to Shane and have four children. Levi and his wife Meghan live in Athens. Randy and his wife Audrey live in Rabun County. I have two daughters. Zoe is my oldest daughter, who is a budding artist, and Caroline, my youngest daughter, just graduated high school. I am a grandmother (aka...Lili) to Anabell, Maddison, Ransom, and Rylee.

I welcome you the to the Rabun County Primary family! Many wonderful, priceless memories are sure to be made on this adventure ahead of us. Kindergarten is a fantastic year, and I encourage you to be as involved as possible this year! I am looking forward to the positive relationships I will develop with you over the course of this year!
