3rd & 4th Grade Elementary
Hello! I’m Ms. Mann and the 25/26 school year will be my 8th year with the Quilcene School District. It will also be my 18th year in education! I started my career in education as an English teacher in South Korea right after college and have been in love with teaching ever since. I’ve since taught in Kent, south Seattle, Renton, Bellevue, and now Quilcene. I have been lucky enough to teach the following grades: 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th.
I graduated from the Evergreen State College with a BA in philosophy in 2007 and graduated from Antioch University Seattle in 2012 with my Masters in Teaching.
Currently I live in Port Townsend with my husband of 16 years. He is a fiction author, screenplay writer, and former Quilcene paraeducator. We have a wild, lovable toddler that I enjoy adventuring around our beautiful Olympic Peninsula with. We spend most of our free time romping around the woods or playing at the beach. We also have a scruffy dog and rescue cat that are the best of friends.
My favorite subjects to teach are history and reading. Though those breakthrough moments during math class stand out among my best memories! My classroom is a memorable place because we take part in so many exciting projects that incorporate art, music, and writing. My students always love to show off their newest art projects in the hallway. Quilcene has some seriously talented artists!
I love to teach our students about different cultures and celebrations around the world. Travel is my biggest passion! I’ve visited 21 countries and can’t wait to see more as my son gets older. Students are always invited to bring in their family’s customs and celebrations to share with the class. We love to learn together.
Quilcene is an amazing place to teach and learn. I feel so privileged to be a part of our students’ lives. They are a spectacular group of kids!
