Pymble Ladies’ College is proud to be the first all-girl cadet unit in Australia. Army Cadets fosters service, leadership, teamwork, and a range of outdoor skills. Through the program, students gain confidence, self-sufficiency, discipline, and the ability to commit both mentally and physically to challenging activities. Enrolment in Army Cadets requires a weekly commitment on Monday afternoon from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. The program includes two multi-day, overnight cadet field training exercises (the Annual Field Exercise and the Bivouac) held off-site; one in the April school holidays and the other in the December school holidays. Cadet Promotions Courses are offered at other times to allow cadets the opportunity to study for positions of formal rank within the Unit.
In addition to weekly training and field exercises, cadets have the opportunity to participate in a range of ceremonial and special events, such as the annual King’s Birthday Parade, ANZAC Day March, Remembrance Day Service and the Unit’s Birthday Parade. The cadet experience also extends to external opportunities, including involvement in innovative activities like drone/cyber challenges, as well as the Adventure Training Course. These experiences foster a strong sense of community, pride, and personal growth, and ensure that each cadet is able to pursue a wide variety of interests throughout their time in the Unit.
This is a YEARLY ONGOING program. Registration is required toward the end of the year prior to participation. Once registered, the student’s enrolment carries over into subsequent years until the student is actively withdrawn.
Registration is open to students in Years 7 to 11, provided they are 13 years of age or older during the first year of registration.
All registrations, as well as any late registration and withdrawal requests, must be completed via the co-curricular system through MyPymble. No email requests will be processed; all actions regarding enrolment status are managed exclusively through MyPymble.
