Vocal Ensemble is an advanced choir for students who are ready for a higher level of musical challenge and commitment. This group performs more complex music that often includes multiple voice parts, varied musical styles, and performances in different languages. Students in Vocal Ensemble continue to refine healthy vocal technique, independence within a vocal part, music reading skills, and expressive performance. Music literacy is an important focus, including stronger understanding of rhythm, notation, and music theory concepts. Students will regularly use solfège (do, re, mi) to strengthen pitch accuracy, sight-reading skills, and overall musicianship. Placement in this group is determined through an audition process to ensure students are prepared for the level of music studied.
