Mixed Chorus is open to any student who is interested in learning how to sing — no prior experience required! This class is designed for beginners as well as students who have sung before and want to continue developing their skills. Students will learn the fundamentals of healthy singing, including proper posture, breathing, tone quality, pitch accuracy, and musical expression. In addition, students will begin learning how to read music through basic music theory concepts such as rhythm, notation, and pitch. Solfège (do, re, mi) will be used regularly to help students develop strong listening skills and confidence in matching pitch. We will explore a variety of musical styles and languages in a supportive and positive environment where everyone is encouraged to grow at their own pace. If you enjoy music and are willing to try your best, Mixed Chorus is a great place to start!
