Deny exam opportunities
Decline to score or cancel your scores
Ban you from future College Board tests (SAT, CLEP, AP)
Share information with schools and institutions
IMPORTANT: CHEATING CONSEQUENCES ARE SEVERE. ALL INSTITUTIONS RECEIVING YOUR AP SCORES MAY BE NOTIFIED OF MISCONDUCT.
Invalid scores may result from:
Discrepant handwriting
Unusual answer patterns
Similar essays/code
Other evidence of rule violations
For invalid scores, you'll receive a written notification and an opportunity to respond. Options include:
Zero score for affected sections
Voluntary score cancellation
Arbitration (U.S. and territories only)
Clear misconduct (including using AI, plagiarism, or getting outside help) may result in immediate score cancellation without a review process.
Testing irregularities (administrative errors, system outages, natural disasters) may result in canceled scores regardless of fault, with a refund as the only remedy.
