Kia ora e te whānau! Thank you for your support with your child's learning at home. We want you to know that we don't expect you to take the place of a teacher and we understand that families are all in varying situations. Different things will work for different families - just do what works for you!
While isolating at home, Learning @ home opportunities varies for every whānau; learning can be:
Read every day - a book from Sunshine Classics, a book from home or an online book, e.g. from Epic.
Do one MathsWhizz progression every day (up to four a week).
Do some physical activity and have some outside time every day.
Do some of the activities from the various subject pages available, e.g. Pāngarau (Maths), Pānui (Reading), and Tuhituhi (Writing).
Share some of the things you have done on Seesaw.
The "Helping at Home" section gives some support ideas and printables for parents.
For those that want more, there are also links to extra sites or apps for reading, writing and maths.
And of course, you will have lots of your own cool ideas about things you can do at home on your learning journey. Children learn naturally through play so have fun!
