As an Explorer/Class, you follow a Guide (usually your teacher) who is leading a group expedition. You can’t join a group expedition without a Guide. Only a Guide can lead an expedition.

Preparing for an expedition
Your Guide sets up the network connection so that the Guide and all Explorers are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Explore a VR expedition
As your Guide leads the expedition, they can focus on a particular scene, highlight points of interest, or draw on a scene.
When you open the Expeditions app, you’ll see 3 tabs at the bottom of the screen—Choose Class to be an explorer on your Guide’s expedition.
- When your Guide tells you, tap to open the Expeditions app. Click on Class at bottom of the screen.
- Tap Join.
- If you see the number or name your guide has asked you to look out for, click Join again.
- Place your device in the viewer.
- If you don’t have a VR viewer, tap the square icon for Full screen to view the expedition in full-screen mode.

6. If you see Paused on your screen, your Guide has paused the expedition. You'll see the scene again when your Guide taps Play.

Your Guide sets up your classroom for an AR expedition by placing printed markers around the room. As Explorers, you and your classmates divide into groups with a group standing at each marker. Your Guide can move the objects so you can view it from all angles, resize objects, and create a spotlight on objects in AR expeditions.
- Stand at one of the printed markers.
- When your Guide tells you, tap Expeditions Select Class at the bottom of the screen.
- Note: If you don’t see Join, an expedition might not be started. Ask your Guide.
- Tap Join .
- (Optional) Insert your device into a selfie stick.
- Point your device camera at the object when your Guide instructs.
- Note: If your phone doesn’t have AR, you can still view the AR objects in 2D mode—you’ll just see the objects on your screen, but not in AR.
- Follow your Guide’s instructions.
- If you see Paused on your screen, your Guide has paused the expedition. You'll see the scene again when your Guide taps Start.
- Tap the "x"at the top of the screen to end an expedition.
