Battle of the Books
By: Lilly Dillehay
Songbirds tend to imitate adults. This is due to a phenomenon known as vocal learning. Jarvis, a professor of neurobiology decided to major in biology. Jarvis was specifically interested in the brains of birds. Jarvis researched and found that birds developed vocalization similar to humans with FOXP2 mutations and birds may be more intelligent than you may think. Jarvis went on to win several awards and got himself a research lab after this.
