This diagram represents the different elements that need to be considered in a portfolio entry. First, the learning experience must include the acquisition of knowledge and skills that pertain to the content area. It must also be connected explicitly to an Expectation for Building and Applying Lifelong Skills.
The learning experience must then be summarized in the portfolio entry, AND be accompanied by an artifact and a reflection. All three of those elements (the learning experience, the artifact, and the reflection) should be considered in the teacher's assessment of proficiency of the Expectation(s) that are connected to the learning experience.
