Selection!
Once applications are submitted, the NHS Adviser removes all identifiers from them and distribute them to at least three members of the Faculty Council. Members then read the applications they are given. The full Council meets a week later to select members by discussing individual applications and then voting on whether or not to select the student based on the application they have read.
Applications are initially read blind to allow the Faculty Council members to remain impartial. Student names are revealed just before the final vote to make sure no other consideration need to be brought up before the Council.
The NHS Adviser reads the applications, but cannot vote.
Induction!
The Induction Ceremony is the official ceremony where newly selected NHS members are officially made a part of the chapter. The ceremony is held in the theatre and includes the recitation of the NHS Pledge, the award of NHS pins, and at PVPA, the annual Water Tower walk! Parents, caregivers, and friends of all the newly selected members are invited to attend. See the homepage for this year Induction date and time.
