Since 1956, Paradise Valley High School's Instrumental Music Program has a proud representative of the Paradise Valley Unified School District. Our mission is to provide a well-rounded and thrilling music education experience for the students of Paradise Valley High School that includes opportunities to perform in ensembles of every type: Symphony Orchestra, String Orchestra, Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Basketball Band, Pit Orchestra, Chamber Music, and more.

We believe in promoting a culture that embraces students of all backgrounds, including those with both years of experience, and also no prior musical experience. We believe that the Paradise Valley Band and Orchestra offer a safe place to learn about not only music, but about being a part of a close-knit team, develop specialized skills, and learn more about yourself in the process. We believe in creating a space of belonging, a classroom that is engaging and fun, and where everyone learns about all kinds of music.

The Instrumental Music Ensembles at PVHS have been recognized in the last several years as some of the strongest in Phoenix, Arizona. In the past several years, both the PVHS Concert Band and Orchestra ensembles have received Superior w/Distinction Ratings at Concert Festivals, the highest recognition that a music group can receive. The Pride of Paradise Marching Band has had a legacy of success over the past several years, including three 4th place finishes (out of approximately 80 bands) in the 2017, 2019, and 2023 at ABODA and AZMBA State Marching Band Festivals. Recently, the Pride of Paradise joined forces with students from all PVUSD High Schools to march in the 2021 and 2022 Fiesta Bowl Parade! 

PVHS also features a Zero-Hour Jazz Ensemble course that meets every day, open to all students. PV's jazz ensemble is unique, as we accept instruments of all types and is one of the few year-round classes in PV and one of the few jazz bands in the district to rehearse in the fall. 

Paradise Valley HS is proud to have a full-fledged chamber music program, with an Orchestra Chamber Ensemble Unit in the Fall, and a Concert Band Chamber Ensemble Unit in the Spring!
